Bath Uni v WSM – Determination of the Compliance Officer of the BWWPL

Thank you for your email Alex. I have also see confirmation of the information that was sent to you by the University of Bath on the 20th February 2024. It is clear to me that the background circumstances are such that the cancellation of the fixture does not fall within the ambit of Rule 14.1.

The following now applies:

Rule 14.4 Referees will be directed to send their Expense Claims to you at the rate of £0.45 per mile.

Mike Coles will notify the referees of the same by forwarding this email.

Rule 14.5 Payment to the referees should be made within 7 days of receipt of each claim.

If the above is not complied with then Bath Uni will be suspended in accordance with Rule 14.6 from the expiry of the period of 7 days from the first expense claim having been received and until Rule 14.6 has been complied with. Suspension will compromise your Team’s ability to take part in any further matches promoted by the League that have been rearranged during the period of suspension, and therefore please could I encourage you to ensure that you have the necessary processes in place to ensure prompt payment.

The cancellation of the fixture shall result in:

Rule 12.3.4 WSM win the fixture with a 5-0 score line.

If either Club wishes to contest this determination, then presumably such will be in accordance with my application of Rule 15 – in which case please refer to Rule 22.2 and follow the process referred to therein.
