This year, in addition to the Senior Men’s Competition, the league has created a Senior Women’s Knockout Competition, and teams have been invited to compete.

Once all entries have been submitted, the draws will be made, and the dates by which matches must be completed will appear on this page.

Note that the Final of the two competitions will be held at Marlborough College Pool in October.

The draw has been completed for Rounds 1 and 2 of the Bristol & West Water Polo League’s Knockout Competition. It is as follows:

Men’s Senior Team Knockout

Round 1, to be completed by May 31st, 2026

Swansea versus City of Newport

Swansea meet their fellow Welsh opponents on Tuesday, May 19th at the Wales National Pool in Swansea. The home side have been awarded a 14-goal start over their opponents. Swansea were the winners over City of Newport, 24-17. Swansea go on to face City of Bristol in the next round.

Newton Abbot versus Swindon Dolphin

The holders of the Cup, Swindon Dolphin made the trek from Wiltshire down to Devon to play Newton Abbot at the Leisure Centre. Swindon were given an eight goal start over the Division 1 side, and came away with a 15-18 victory. They go on to face Frome in the second round.

Round 2, to be completed by June 30th, 2026

City of Bristol Harlequins versus Weston-super-Mare

Weston-super-Mare overcame City of Bristol Harlequins easily in their Knockout game played at Hengrove. Harlequins were awarded a four goal start, but with Sean Coles playing back with his old club, they overcame that with Ease, and were eventually 12-20 victors and progress to the semi-finals.

Frome versus Swindon Dolphins

Wiltshire’s Swindon Dolphin overcame their Somerset rivals, Frome 13-19. The visitors were given a nine-goal start over the home side, but unfortunately they could not overcome the deficit.

Swansea verses City of Bristol, June 16th, at the Wales National Pool, Swansea.

Swansea, who have made a poor start to the season in 2026, have been awarded a 14-goal start to their game against Premier League side, City of Bristol. This follows last year’s handicap that gave the Welsh side a 32-goal start in last year’s fixture, and ended with a final score of 43-25. However, City of Bristol, who travelled with just nine players, were unable to overcome the handicap, and went down 20-17.

Bradford on Avon versus Devonport Royal

Bradford on Avon are the first side to complete their cup game with a 22-9 victory of Devonport Royal. The handicappers had a tough job deciding on the handicap for the Division 1 team from Plymouth, and unfortunately, did not guess correctly, with the visitors from Devon being comprehensively beaten by their Wiltshire Division 2 opponents. Match Sheet can be found here.

Semi-final Draw will be made on July 1st, 2026. Games to be completed by September 16th.
