All change in Senior Men’s Division 1

It was all change in the Senior Men’s Division 1 division after this week’s matches.

Exeter have regained the top spot after an unexpectedly narrow win over fellow Devonians Newton Abbot on a blowy night at Teignmouth Lido, 10-14.

But the shock results  was City of Newport overcoming Cheltenham Spartans 14-6 at the regional pool in Newport. At one stage it looked like Cheltenham might have been given a safety line when Hugh Spencer was sent out for a brutality offence with the score on 11-4 to Newport; but in the four minutes of power player, Cheltenham could only managed to pull one goal back. They finally went  down to a jubilant Newport team 14-6.

The final result of the three matches played was City of Bristol’s game against visitors Swindon Dolphins. CoB were victorious 19-8.
